Why Birch
Aesthetically pleasing and structurally sound, Baltic Birch plywood is known for its light color, flawless high-grade quality, excellent strength, and affordability. We offer a number of grades and plywood products, depending on the application our clients require for their next project.
Birch plywood uses veneers that are sandwiched together, usually at right angles to the layer above or below, also known a ‘cross bonded’. This results in a product with a void-free core which gives it greater strength and more resistance to shrinkage.
Birch plywood is extremely safe to use for many consumer and child applications since it does not have jagged edges and knots.
Appearance wise most professionals would agree birch comes in various grades and edges which can be shaped, sanded and finished to the end-user specifications. The popular choice amongst most builders, furniture makers and various manufacturers, we welcome the opportunity to furnish samples starting from B/BB, and all the way to C/C.

Face veneers are considered clear and free of defects with a light-uniform color. Back allows 3-6 color matched patches, which are oval in shape and egg sized. Somewhat flawless appearance without visible defects which are practically non-existent with a 15% discoloration of the surface.
Loose knots and defects are patched with slight discoloration of up to 60%. Patches are to match surrounding pattern and color. Both face and back veneers allow 3-6 small color matched patches on average and some light streaks. Small pin knots may be present.
The value differentiator in ordering lower than B grade supply allows customers to combine various grades of different veneer into a single board. This unique combination allows for most indoor and outdoor projects where a single side would be visible.
Breaking it up allows for smart decisioning and budget, where the consumer facing piece will always be flawless (BB), whereas the opposite veneer will likely consist of the “C” Grade. Unlimited potential and applications for Midline boards.
Very strong and durable, where all aesthetic and physical-mechanical properties of the wood are preserved.
The “CP” back veneers are downgraded from “BB” grade veneers, which allow for unlimited patches and sound knots, but does not allow for open defects.
Face and back grade veneers allow unlimited sound knots and repaired splits and unlimited patches. The panel is sound on both sides and designed for laminating.
